OFFICEXPO FAIR GREW BY 100 % !
The Officexpo Fair 2011 was successfully realized for the 2nd time and once more
pleased all its participants and visitors. The Office furniture producers who
get a 25% share from the Turkish furniture industry, having a volume of
approximately 9 billion USD met at Officexpo Fair, Istanbul CNR Expo. The fair,
organised by the CNR Expo Trade Fairs between 01 – 05 February 2011 with the
support of OMSIAD, Office Furniture Industrialists and Businessmen Association
was welcome with great interest by the participants. A total of 16,420 people,
of which 1,029 were foreigners, visited the fair in 5 days.
The Officexpo Fair grew by 100% compared to last year; there were more than 100
brands participating over an area of 20,000 m². Mehmet Şimşek, the Minister of
Finance and Hüseyin Avni Mutlu, the Governor of Istanbul, attended the
inauguration ceremony. Kadir Topbaş, the Mayor of Istanbul and Aykut Cengiz
Engin, the Chief Public Prosecutor of Istanbul, also visited the fair.
Ali Bulut, the CEO of the CNR Holding Trade Shows, said that the fair has proven
to be productive for the participants and the industry and added that there will
be more companies participating in 2012. He said, “The use of new generation
products in workplaces is becoming more and more popular. New trends in the work
culture have an impact on offices. For this reason, the fair was very beneficial
for the industry in terms of viewing new trends. We believe that the short and
medium term agreements signed during the fair have created a significant
business volume. As the fair will further grow next year, the Officexpo 2012
will continue offering more opportunities for collaboration to the participants.
”
The organization aims to increase the market share of the office furniture
industry locally and internationally. Authorities who attended the fair also
emphasized the fact that Turkey’s share from the office furniture industry,
which is 300 billion USD worldwide, should be increased. They indicated that
more emphasis should be put on design and R&D and underlined the importance of
adapting oneself to global competition conditions.
